Features of Parkfairfax
Welcome to Parkfairfax - a historic community with a significant future! You are now part of a unique community of 1,684 units carefully nestled into 132 landscaped and wooded acres. Your community began as rental units constructed to meet wartime civilian housing needs. Many notable Washingtonians have chosen your community as their first homes when coming to Washington to serve their nation, including Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford. In 1978, Parkfairfax was converted to a condominium and is now home for people of all interests, occupations and ages. Among the amenities Parkfairfax offers are three swimming pools,an exercise facility, tot lots, and tennis courts, a car wash, laundry rooms and woodland trails.
This online brochure of Parkfairfax welcomes you to the community and gives a few pointers on how you can be a good neighbor while keeping your community a pleasant place to live, work, and play.
Parkfairfax Condominium is a bit different from other condominiums in that we share more of our public spaces, live comfortably close to each other and have not fenced our backyards into tiny isolated islands. It takes cooperation and community spirit to keep things going. We hope you will take the opportunity to get to know your neighbors and to enjoy living in Parkfairfax.
Gardens and Patios
As you may have noticed, Parkfairfax is a gardener's haven! All residents are encouraged to plant gardens that contribute to the aesthetic improvement of Parkview. We have an enthusiastic Garden Club that sponsors monthly educational meetings and an annual garden tour. A Gardening Guide to Parkfairfax is available and an Azalea Day plant sale is held each spring.
